Scafidi named to NEIBA All-Region Team

PAXTON, Mass. – The accolades continue to pile up for Anna Maria College sophomore right fielder Jeff Scafidi (Worcester, Mass.), who was most recently selected as a member of the 2010 New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association (NEIBA) Division III All-New England Second Team on Tuesday afternoon.

In addition to his All-New England selection, Scafidi has earned several other honors during his 2010 season, including The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) Player of the Week, National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Player of the Week, Anna Maria College Athlete of the Year, and All-TCCC First Team. Scafidi led the TCCC in batting average (.486), on-base percentage (.535), and slugging percentage (.764) this season, while setting the AMC single season records for hits (70), doubles (15), runs batted in (49), and total bases (110).

Scafidi's terrific season helped lead the AMCATS to a program record 21 wins, sparking the club to postseason berths into both the TCCC and ECAC Championship Tournaments. Photo Courtesy of David Sheridan for AMC Sports Information
