Volleyball Overpowered by Lyons

- PAXTON, MASS: The Anna Maria Volleyball team was defeated by the Lyons of Mount Holyoke this evening in the Fuller Center.

 THE BASICS:

- Date: 9/26/2019

- Score: Mount Holyoke 3, Anna Maria 0. Set Scores 5-25, 10-25, 5-25.

- Records: Mount Holyoke (3-10), Anna Maria (2-6)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-  The Lyons offense was paced by Sasha Simine (Kitchener, Ont) and Sarah Bishop (Rutland, MA), who both finished with a game high seven kills apiece.  

-  Brayden Walden (McKinney, TX) tallied another game high after setting the ball perfect for 23 assists.

-  The AMCATS were led by Ryann Hassett (North Oxford, MA), Bella Kozciak (Westfield, MA), and Hannah Mitchell (Pittsfield, MA) who all were able to finish a Julia Ramos (Orange, MA) set three times each.

- Ramos was finished the contest with eight assists, three digs, and one block assist.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

-  The Lyons out hit Anna Maria 29-9.

-  The AMCATS also fell short in assists with just 8 compared to MHC's 28.

-  Mount Holyoke also took the digs category with 41 to 28.

- Anna Maria returns to action on the 27^th when they host a tri-match against Johnson & Wales at 3:00 PM, and Emmanuel College at 7:00 PM.
