Ellis, Smith Selected GNAC Honorable Mention
Paxton, Mass. ? Teammates Andrew Ellis (Fitchburg, Mass.) and Joshua Smith (Mendon, Mass.) have both garnered Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) honorable mention status for the week ending March 24th.
Joshua Smith scored 6 point for the AMCATS in the seven day stretch. In a 6-4 win over Daniel Webster Smith scored two goals picked up 5 ground balls and was 7-for-10 in the face-off circle. In a tough fought 13-11 loss to Saint Joseph?s Smith scored 2 goals and had 2 helpers along with 8 groundballs. The freshman was 15-for-21 on face-offs.
Andrew Ellis led the AMCATS to a 1-1 week, helping the team pick up their first conference win with a 6-4 victory over Daniel Webster. The junior made 6 saves in the win surrendering only 4 goals against. In a highly contested 13-11 loss to GNAC foe St. Joe?s the keeper made 16 saves while facing 39 shots.
The AMCAT men?s lacrosse team returns to action on Wednesday, March 28th when they travel to GNAC opponent Mount Ida College for a 4:00 pm contest.
