Cohen Named ECFC Offensive Player Of The Week

- PAXTON, MA : Senior quarterback Alex Cohen (Plymouth, MA) of the Anna Maria College football team has been named the Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC) Offensive Player of the Week for the week ending September 19, 2021.

Cohen threw for a career-high 355 yards on 25 of 36 passing with one touchdown completion in the AMCATS' 23-13 victory over the Massachusetts Maritime Academy on Saturday. Cohen punched in two more touchdowns on the ground, scoring or throwing for all three of Anna Maria's scores on the day.               

With 7:27 remaining in the fourth quarter and the AMCATS backed up in their endzone, Cohen found sophomore wide receiver Deandre Wallace (Waterbury, CT) over the middle for a 98-yard touchdown completion, currently the longest pass in the nation for this season.

Anna Maria is 1-1 for the first time since 2013.
