King, Clancy Repeat at GNAC Weekly Award Winners

WINTHROP, Mass.—Sophomore Amari King (Lawrence, Mass.) and freshman Tierney Clancy(Meriden, Conn.) have earned Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Corvias Player and Rookie of the Week honors, respectively, as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.

It marks the fourth time this season that King has earned Player of the Week honors, while Clancy earns Rookie of the Week honors for the second time.

KING'S WEEK

King led the AMCATS to a 3-0 week with 6.78 kills per set on an impressive .385 hitting percentage. She recorded her 14th double-double of the season in a 19-kill, 16-dig performance against Worcester State before tallying 19 kills and 23 kills against Mount Ida and Norwich, respectively. King also added 2.78 digs per set.

CLANCY'S WEEK

Clancy dished out 11.00 assists per set in a flawless 3-0 week for the AMCATS. She had two 34-assist performances on the week against Worcester State and Norwich. In addition, the freshman setter served eight service aces and recorded 16 digs.

WHAT'S NEXT

The AMCATS (20-10, 8-3 GNAC) will host a GNAC quarterfinal match tomorrow at 7:00 p.m. The AMCATS wrapped up the regular season as the No. 3 seed in the tournament and will entertain No. 6 Saint Joseph's College of Maine. It marks the first time in program history that the AMCAT volleyball team has hosted a playoff game.
