Field Hockey Places Nine on NFHCA National Academic Squad

PAXTON, Mass.—Nine different members of the Anna Maria College field hockey team were named to the 2015 ZAG Field Hockey/Field Hockey Coaches' Association (NFHCA) Division III National Academic Squad, as announced by the NFHCA on Tuesday afternoon.

The National Academic Squad recognizes those student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher through the first semester of the 2015-16 academic year. Highlighting this year's list are seniors Mary Kate Breen (Londonderry, Mass.), Kylie Dalbec (Portland, Maine), and Shelby Looney (Leicester, Mass.).

Members of the AMCATS' junior class earning the honor include Katherine Albro (Leicester, Mass.), Lauren DiPillo (Canton, Mass.), and Kaitlyn Moran (Leicester, Mass.).

Sophomore Bryanna Tobin (Deep River, Conn.) represents her class for the second-straight season, while freshmen Danielle Huston (Spencer, Mass.) and Sarah Coley (Worcester, Mass.) are first-time honorees.

In addition, the AMCAT squad was one of 124 Division III programs across the country that earned the 2015 ZAG Field Hockey/NFHCA Division III National Academic Team Award. It marks the six-straight year that Anna Maria has qualified for this award, which is given to programs with a team grade-point average of 3.0 or higher. Anna Maria compiled a 3.4 GPA in the fall 2014 semester.
