Dalbec, Lapierre Earn NFHCA All-Region Honors

PAXTON, Mass.—Seniors Kylie Dalbec (Portland, Maine) and Kayla Lapierre (Worcester, Mass.) of the Anna Maria College field hockey team were named to the National Field Hockey Coaches' Association (NFHCA) Longstreth All-East Region Second Team, as announced by the association on Monday morning.

Dalbec repeats as an NFHCA/Longstreth All-Region selection, while Lapierre earns the honor for the first time. The teams are voted on by coaches within the region.

As a senior forward, Dalbec led the team in points with 15 goals and 18 assists for 48 points. Her 18 assists rank her fourth in all of Division III in assists-per-game (0.83). Dalbec posted a two-goal, two-assist performance against Nichols midway through the season and had back-to-back three-assist game against Rivier and Framingham State.  She graduates as the most decorated player in AMCAT history, as she finishes with 68 goals, 48 assists, and 184 points, ranking her first in all three categories.

Lapierre had a breakout season in 2015 as she scored 13 goals and dished out 13 assists for 39 points. She recorded at least one point in 14 out of 21 games this season to display her season-long strength. She posted a combination of two goals and assist on four different occasions in 2015, against Becker, Mount Ida, Nichols, and Rivier. Lapierre concludes her career with 32 goal and 31 assists, ranking her third all-time in points at Anna Maria.

Fellow Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) members Maizy Wagner and Julie Saltamartini of Simmons College were first team selections.

The AMCATS concluded the 2015 season with a 13-8 record and a 4-2 record in GNAC play. The team advanced to the GNAC Semifinals and accepted a bid to the ECAC New England tournament, where they were ousted in the semifinals by Salve Regina.
