Lapierre Earns ECAC New England All-Star First Team Honors

DANBURY, Conn.—Senior midfielder Kayla Lapierre (Worcester, Mass.) of the Anna Maria College field hockey team has earned Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) New England All-Star First Team honors, as announced by the league office on Thursday afternoon.

It marks the second regional award of the season for Lapierre, who was also named to the National Field Hockey Coaches' Association (NFHCA) All-East Region second team honors in November.

Lapierre had a breakout season in 2015 as she scored 13 goals and dished out 13 assists for 39 points. She recorded at least one point in 14 out of 21 games this season to display her season-long strength.

She posted a combination of two goals and assist on four different occasions in 2015, against Becker, Mount Ida, Nichols, and Rivier. Lapierre concludes her career with 32 goal and 31 assists, ranking her third all-time in points at Anna Maria.

Fellow Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) player Meghan Williams of Saint Joseph's College of Maine was a first team selection on defense, while Alexia Malone Oliver of Simmons College was a second team defensive selection.

The AMCATS concluded the 2015 season with a 13-8 record and a 4-2 record in GNAC play. The team advanced to the GNAC Semifinals and accepted a bid to the ECAC New England tournament, where they were ousted in the semifinals by Salve Regina.
