Volleyball Sweeps Pine Manor Twice

PAXTON, Mass: The Anna Maria Volleyball team was able to sweep the Gators of Pine Manor in both matches this evening during non-conference action in Chestnut Hill.

 

Match One: 3-0, set scores 25-21, 25-18, and 25-14.

 

The Gators (0-9) tallied fourteen total kills in the first match with six of them coming from Keisha Hadorn. Kiarra Pouncy followed Hadorn closely as she had five kills of her own with just three errors. Pine Manor's Nahalia Faurot led the team in assists with six throughout the match.

 

The AMCATS (2-12) compiled twenty-three total kills in the match with eight different players contributing. The Biggest contributor was senior Sarah Lathrop (Waterford, Mass.) as she put down seven attack attempts into the kill column. Hannah Mitchel (Pittsfield, Mass.) put four kills of her own into the total with only two errors. Abygail Chapdelaine (East Longmeadow, Mass.) and Taylor Hoffstedt (Lanesborough, Mass.) finished right behind them with three kills apiece. Once again freshmen Julia Ramos (Orange, Mass.) led the AMCATS with eleven assists.

 

Match Two: 3-0, set scores 25-10, 25-11, and 25-22.

 

Pine Manor (0-10) was led once again by Keisha Hodorn who accumulated more than half of the Gators kills with ten. Kiarra Pouncy took the team lead in assists this match as she contributed six in the contest.

 

Anna Maria (3-12) had ten less kills in this match, but made up for it with twenty-seven service aces. Nine of which came for Lathrop as she only had one service error on the night, along with two more kills. Mitchel was back at it again as she slammed down five more kills to get her total to nine between the two matches. Julia Ramos was right there as she tallied not only eight assist for a team high but had four kills of her own.

 

Pine Manor will be back in action this Tuesday as they will play Fisher in a double header at home with action starting at 6PM and again at 8PM.

 

Your AMCATS are back on the court as they travel to conference opponent Rivier this Wednesday the 3rd with a 7PM start.
