Frederick Named ECAC New England Rookie of the Week

DANBURY, Mass.—Freshman Nate Frederick (Worcester, Mass.) of the Anna Maria College baseball team has added to his weekly awards, as he was named the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) New England Rookie of the Week.

Earlier this week, he was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Rookie of the Week, becoming the second AMCAT to earn the honor this season.

Frederick earns this honor after his performance last week, in which he batted 5-for-10 in a doubleheader against UMaine-Presque Isle on Sunday. Frederick's five hits included two doubles, a triple, and a walk-off three-run homerun.

He also earned the start on the mound in game one, throwing four complete innings with four strikeouts while giving up just one run.

The AMCATS (6-8, 1-1 GNAC) will return to action next week for a non-conference doubleheader against Eastern Nazarene at 2:30 p.m.
