Paxton, ME – Anna Maria women’s soccer freshman Teresa Ryan (Shrewsbury, Mass.) had garnered Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Rookie of the Week honors for the first time in her career as announced by the conference on Monday afternoon. Teammate Tabitha Ruggeri (Palmer, Mass.) was listed on the GNAC weekly Honor Roll.

Saints Down AMCATS in Women's Soccer

BOSTON, Mass. – The Emmanuel College Women’s Soccer Team put together a 7-0 win over Anna Maria College on senior day and amidst Emmanuel’s family weekend on Saturday afternoon. The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) game was the opener in a conference double-header played on Roberto Clemente Field. The victory moved the Saints into double figures in the win column, boosting Emmanuel to 10-5-1 overall and 6-3-1 in league play. Anna Maria fell to 1-12 on the season and 0-10 in the GNAC.

Paxton, Mass. – Freshman goalkeeper Sarah Benvenuti (Southbridge, Mass.) made 19 saves but it wasn’t enough as the Anna Maria Women’s Soccer team was defeated by visiting Bay Path College 4-0 in non-conference action on Tuesday night at AMCAT Field. The Wildcats earned their first win of the season improving to 1-4-1 while the AMCATS move to 1-5 in 2012.
