Lady AMCATS End Season vs. Lasell
April 22, 2013
Newton, Mass. (4/22/13) – The Lasell softball team wrapped up their 2013 season by sweeping the AMCATS from Anna Maria College in GNAC doubleheader action 8-5 and 6-0. Anna Maria concludes their season at 5-32 over while going 2-22 in conference play, while the Lasers cap their season on a high note with a pair of wins that pushes them to 10-26 on the year while finishing their conference schedule at 7-17.
AMCATS Fall to Falcons, 9-2

Paxton, Mass. – The Anna Maria College softball team dropped a 9-2 decision to visiting Albertus Magnus in Great Northeast Athletic Conference action on Sunday afternoon at AMCAT Field. The AMCATS record now holds at 5-30 overall and 2-20 in conference play, while the Falcons move to 14-22 and 7-15 in GNAC play.
Softball: Lady AMCATS Split with Mustangs on Senior Day

Paxton, Mass. – Senior Tabitha Ruggeri (Sturbridge, Mass.) cranked a two-out, two RBI double in the bottom of the eighth inning to lead the AMCATS to a 7-6 walk-off win in game one versus visiting Mount Ida College in Great Northeast Athletic Conference softball action on Saturday afternoon at AMCAT field. The Mustangs captured game two by a score of 7-1 to earn the split with the AMCATS.
AMCATS Sweep Wildcats in Softball Action

Paxton, Mass. – Sophomore Cristina Turley (Waterford, Conn.) was an efficient 6-for-6 with 5 RBI’s to lead Anna Maria to a non-conference sweep of visiting Wheelock College in softball action on Wednesday afternoon at AMCAT Field. Anna Maria took game one, 10-1 and pounded out fifteen hits in the nightcap for an 18-1 victory.

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. – University of Saint Joseph freshman Mary Sciglimpaglia (Norwalk, Conn.) went a combined 5-for-5 with two doubles, a triple and three RBI as the Blue Jays swept Anna Maria in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference doubleheader, 6-0 and 5-2 Tuesday at St. Joseph.

East Providence, R.I. -- The Johnson & Wales University softball team won a pair of games against Anna Maria College in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference double header at Pierce Field on Monday afternoon. Johnson & Wales won game one 4-0 and finished the sweep with a 6-0 victory in game two.

STANDISH, ME – Saint Joseph’s College (21-5, 13-3 GNAC) claimed a pair of victories versus Anna Maria College (2-22, 1-12 GNAC) in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) softball action at Richard W. Bailey Field on Saturday afternoon. In the opener, the Monks recorded an 11-0 win in five innings and completed the sweep with a 9-1 victory in six frames in the nightcap.

Holden, Mass. â The Albertus Magnus Falcons scored the go-ahead run in the top of the eighth inning to pull-off an 8-7 victory over Anna Maria College in Great Northeast Athletic Conference softball action at Wachusett Regional High School. The nightcap was postponed due to darkness and rain. With the win the Falcon move to 11-14 (4-9 GNAC), while the ACMATS drop to 2-20 (1-10 GNAC) on the season.

Boston, MA -- The Suffolk University Softball team swept a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) double header over Anna Maria College on Friday afternoon. Junior Erin McAndrews (Marblehead, Mass.) hit a pair of home runs in game two as she drove in seven runs to lead the Rams to an 11-3 victory in game two after a 15-hit attack paced a 9-1 win in the opener.

Lady AMCATS split doubleheader, earn first GNAC Win

PAXTON, Mass. (03.24.13) – Anna Maria College earned a split of Sunday’s Great Northeast Athletic Conference softball doubleheader with Emmanuel College at the Rotch Field in Boston. The AMCATS (2-10, 1-1 GNAC) dropped game one to the Saints (4-8, 1-1 GNAC) 7-4 in seven innings, but rallied with three runs in the sixth inning to earn a 5-4 win in the nightcap. The win in game two was the first GNAC softball win for Anna Maria since joining the conference in 2011.

Clermont, FL – The Anna Maria College softball team snapped a 40-game winless streak with a 6-1 victory over Penn State – New Kensington at the Dot Richardson Invitational during spring recess in Clermont, FL. The Lady AMCATS dropped the first game of the day to Coe College 8-0.
