AMCATS Fall to Cadets on Senior Day

Paxton, Mass. – Norwich freshman Alec Brigante (Colchester, VT) netted a hat-trick to lead the Cadets to a 7-0 victory over host Anna Maria College in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) men's soccer action at AMCAT Field on Wednesday afternoon.

In a pre-game ceremony the AMCATS honored a pair of seniors. Four-year starter Justin Hyland (Leicester, Mass.) and Joe Cotrona (Southbridge, Mass.) we recognized by head coach Taskin Guven for their contributions to the team.

Freshman Jacob Zimmerman added two goals for Norwich, while Andy Dustin and Ryan Curley each added a marker in the win.

Freshman Christopher Mattioli (Sturbridge, Mass.) led the AMCATS with three shots on goal followed by Hyland's two shots.

Anna Maria's Ryan Goehring (Hampton, NJ) made two saves in net before being replaced by Andrew Dahl with 30 minutes left in the game.

Anna Maria will wrap-up the 2013 campaign on Saturday afternoon when they travel to Johnson and Wales University.
