Men's Basketball Falls to RPI

UTICA, NY: The Anna Maria Men's Basketball team was defeated this afternoon by RPI in non-conference action to close out the Utica Tournament.   

 THE BASICS:

Score: RPI 109, Anna Maria 71

Records: RPI (8-2), Anna Maria (3-9)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-  The AMCATS saw the lead once to start the game on a Ralph Grasso (Marlborough, MA) 3-point shot. After that RPI overtook Anna Maria and never looked back.

-  Mason Memmelaar had the hot hand for the Puckman finishing with a game high 22 points in just 23 minutes. Just behind him, was teammate Patrick Mahoney who tallied 17 points of his own along with 11 rebounds to complete the double-double.

-  Grasso finished with the team high and was the only AMCAT to high double digits with 12 points.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

-  Memmelaar had 22 points, 2 rebounds, and 2 assists.

-  Mahoney finished with 17 points, 11 rebounds, and 3 assists.

-  Grasso ended with 12 points and 3 assists.

UP NEXT:

- Anna Maria returns to action in the new year on the 4th against Trinity, with tipoff scheduled for 12:00 PM.
