Sullivan Garners GNAC Weekly Award

Paxton, Mass. – Junior John Sullivan (Southbury, Conn.) was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Baseball Player of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.

Sullivan had a monster week for the AMCATS. He batted .600 (12-for-20) with 6 doubles, 2 triples, 5 runs scored and 10 RBI's. He had 5 multi-hit games, a slugging percentage of 1.100 and a .600 on- base percentage. He helped backbone a starting rotation that produce a 3.19 ERA over seven games and led the AMCATS to a 6-1 week including an outstanding 5-1 GNAC record.   In a sweep over Rivier University, Sullivan was 5-for-6 with 3 RBI's and two doubles. In the lone victory over #21 Saint Joseph's College (ME) the third-year man went 2-for-3 with 2 RBI's. In a 12-11 slugfest vs. Albertus Magnus, the catcher delivered 4 RBI's with a triple and two doubles.

Teammate Brandon Normandin (Oxford, Mass.) earned honor roll status for his pitching performance last week. The southpaw downed #21 Saint Joseph's College 5-1 on Saturday afternoon. Normandin allowed just one run (unearned) on four hits over six innings while striking out one batter.

Anna Maria returns to action on Wednesday afternoon when they travel to Suffolk University for a GNAC doubleheader starting at 3:00pm.
