Bio

Coach Shomo begins her fifth year at the helm of the AMCAT volleyball team in the fall of 2015.

The AMCATS enter this 2015 campaign fresh off of their best season in program history, as Shomo led the team to a program-best 13 wins and the team's first-ever postseason appearance during the 2014 season. In addition, Shomo also saw her first player earn Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) weekly honors, as freshman Rebecca Foti was tabbed the Rookie of the Week midway though the season.

2014 marked the second season in a row that the AMCATS reached double-digits in the wins column, as the team posted an 11-15 overall record in 2013.

Shomo arrived at Anna Maria with a wealth of playing experience. During her four-year career at Western New England University, she was co-captain in 2010,  and received the WNE Athletics Coaches’ Award and Unsung Hero Award. During her summers Samantha was a volleyball coach and counselor at the Raritan Athletic Center (Flemington, NJ) and Hunterdon YMCA.

Shomo graduated Summa cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and was named to the CCC All-Academic Team. She spent two years working in the WNE athletic department serving as a NCAA Champs/Life Skills Program mentor.
