Ryan Stops 15, AMCATS Fall to Rivier

(Nashua, NH) The Rivier University Women's Soccer team earned their third win of the season this evening as the defeated Anna Maria College 1-0 on a wet misty setting at Raider Field.
 
Senior co-captain Christina Parent (Loudon, NH) scored the game's only goal as her shot from about 30 yards away was able to slip through the hands of the AMCATS goaltender inside the 43rd minute of action. Sophomore Holly Slocum (Holden, MA) was credited with the assist as the Raiders improve to 3-8-1 overall and more importantly 2-5-0 in the GNAC.
 
Anna Maria falls to 4-8-1 overall and 0-7 in the GNAC with the loss.
 
Senior Cassandra Brown (Somersworth, NH) recorded her second shutout of the season as she stopped all two shots she faced. Her counterpart, AMC's Teresa Ryan was successful on 15 of 16 shots.
 
Both teams will enjoy a day off tomorrow before returning to the pitch for Columbus Day matchups. Rivier will travel to Standish, Maine to battle Saint Joseph's College in a 12pm game. Anna Maria will host Emmanuel College at 3pm.
