HOW IT HAPPENED

Anna Maria and Fisher were in a tough battle in the beginning of the game until Anna Maria's scoring power was too much for the Falcons to answer. Anna Maria hit 12 three pointers throughout the game and shot 37.5 percent behind the arc. Five AMCATS hit three pointers led by Nicole Mareiro with four of the 12. Kristina Russo followed Mareiro's lead with three three's while Taitt and Emily Capstick (Worcester, Mass.) posted two each and Christina Gauvin tallied one.

The AMCATS came out of the gate first with a lay-up by junior, Kristina Russo (Windsor, Conn.) to gain the early 2-0 lead. The Falcons fired back with a jump shot from Christine Briggs to tie the game at 2-2. Anna Maria and the Falcons continued to duke it out until a run started by a Mareiro three which brought the score to 17 to 11. The AMCATS did not look back and went on a 14 to 7 run to bring the halftime score to 28 to 18. The AMCATS continued to dominate in the second half of play. The AMCATS outscored the Falcons 23 to 21 in the third quarter and 21 to 15 in the fourth quarter.
