Men’s Soccer Claims First Win Over Dean

FRANKLIN, MA : For the first time in 737 days, the Anna Maria College men's soccer team has found victory on the field as the AMCATS travelled to Lippert Field in Franklin, Massachusetts and defeated the host Bulldogs of Dean College, 3-1, in Great Northeast Athletic Conference action.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Anna Maria sophomore midfielder Zyaan Haldane (Hartford, CT) scored his first career goal in the sixth minute of the game to tie the game up at 1-1, this assisted by grad student midfielder Nick Lawrence (North Attleboro, MA).
• After going into halftime tied, Anna Maria junior midfielder Brian Gonzalez (East Hampton, NY) gave the AMCATS their first lead of the game, that coming on an unassisted shot in the 74^th minute for his second goal of the year.
• Anna Maria junior forward Hezekiah Adeyeye (Woonsocket, RI), the AMCATS leading striker this season, put the game away with his fourth goal of the season in the 82^nd minute.
• Anna Maria junior goalkeeper Kyle Sherman (Mount Laurel, NJ) had three saves in 68 minutes.

UP NEXT:

Anna Maria will look to make it two in a row when they get back on the field on Wednesday to host the Wildcats of Johnson & Wales University in a 4:00 p.m. match.
