Men’s Soccer Rally Falls Short At Elms

CHICOPEE, MA : The Anna Maria College men's soccer team lost 4-2 at Elms College on Wednesday afternoon in Chicopee, Massachusetts.

THE BASICS:

• Date: Wednesday, October 6, 2021
• Score: Elms 4, Anna Maria 2
• Records: Blazers of Elms (5-7, 4-5 GNAC) | AMCATS of Anna Maria (2-8-1, 2-5 GNAC)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Trailing 2-0 early in the second half, Anna Maria freshman midfielder Rubelsi Moran (Holden, MA) found junior forward Hezekiah Adeyeye (Woonsocket, RI) for the junior's fifth goal of the season.
• In the 69^th minute with Anna Maria trailing 3-1, it was Moran himself finding the back of the net for his team-leading sixth goal of the season. That was as close as the AMCATS would get, however, as the Blazers scored an insurance goal in the closing minutes.
• Anna Maria freshman goalkeeper David Flores (San Antonio, TX) finished with seven saves for the AMCATS.
• Elms had two second half goals from Musa Jiana, along with first half scores from Justin Szwajkowski and Jonathan Roach.

UP NEXT:

Anna Maria will be back on the field on Saturday when they play host to Albertus Magnus College for a 1:00 p.m. match.
