Men's Lacrosse Falls Short Against The Raiders

Paxton, MA: The Anna Maria College men's lacrosse team 13-7 to Rivier University on Wednesday in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action at Caparso Field.

HIGHLIGHTS:

  • AMCATS sophomore attacker Ethan Quinn (Dudley, MA) recorded two early goals before the Raiders scored their first. Quinn opened the scoring with a goal only 44 seconds into the match. Senior attacker Nick Massaro was credited with the assist. Less than two minutes later, Quinn scored for the second time, this time assisted by senior attacker Quinn Hannagan (South Windsor, CT).

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

  • Senior midfielder Eric Glover (Baldwinville, MA) had his sixth multi-goal game of the season, scoring in the third quarter and with five seconds left on the clock in the fourth.
  • Senior goalkeeper Griffin Moore (Worcester, MA) tied his career-high with 19 saves, a feat he has accomplished twice previously, most recently on March 30th of last year against St. Joseph's (ME).
  • Brennan Fields' (Chicopee, MA) man-up goal in the third quarter was the third of the freshman midfielder's career.
  • Fellow freshman midfielder Hank Gittines (Shrewsbury, NJ) scored for the second straight game, bringing his season total to 10.
  • Junior midfielder Tommy Girard (Newbury, MA) had scored his ninth goal of the year in the second quarter.
  • Freshman midfielder Nathan Powers (Putney, VT) had a game-high six ground balls.
  • Michael Ference (Salem, NH) led all players with four goals for the Raiders. Connor Eck added three goals on a game-high 13 shots.

UP NEXT:

The AMCATS will return to the field on Saturday, April 9th when they will return to Caparso Field to faceoff with Lasell University for an 11:00 am start.
