Four In A Row: Men’s Lacrosse Storms Past Dolphins

THROGGS NECK, NY: The Anna Maria College men's lacrosse team won 12-5 at the College of Mount Saint Vincent on Wednesday evening at Reinhardt Field on the SUNY Maritime campus in Throggs Neck, New York. With the victory, the AMCATS are on their first four-game winning streak in the history of the program, dating back to the 2009 season. It is Anna Maria's best start to a season through eight games since 2012.

TOP 'CATS:

  • Anna Maria freshman midfielder Hank Gittines (Shrewsbury, NJ) was a playmaker on offense, leading the AMCATS with two goals and three assists.
  • Anna Maria senior midfielder Eric Glover (Baldwinville, MA) and senior attacker Nick Massaro (West Haven, CT) each finished with two goals and an assist with four ground balls.
  • Anna Maria senior goalkeeper Griffin Moore (Worcester, MA) continued his strong play of late, with 11 saves in net.
  • Anna Maria freshman midfielder Nathan Powers (Putney, VT) went 12-of-19 on faceoffs, leading the AMCATS with eight ground balls, and scoring one goal.
  • Anna Maria senior defender Tyler Shaw (Fulton, NY) continued to roam the defense zone, tallying six ground balls and even scoring a goal late in the third quarter.
  • Senior attacker Quinn Hannagan (South Windsor, CT) finished with three assists, two ground balls and two caused turnovers.
  • Goals were also scored by sophomore attacker Ethan Quinn (Dudley, MA) as well as freshman midfielder Brennan Fields (Chicopee, MA), Freshman attacker Nicolas Pasqualini (Mystic CT) and freshman midfielder Liam Bedenkop (Marson Mills, MA).

 

UP NEXT:

Anna Maria will be back on the field on Saturday when they travel to Dean College for an 11:00 a.m. game. The AMCATS will be seeking their first-ever win over the Bulldogs, and will be looking to remain undefeated in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play, as a victory would give them a share of first-place in the GNAC standings.
