Warburton Tabbed an ECAC New England All-Star

DANBURY, Conn.—Senior forward Trafficia Warburton (Worcester, Mass.) of the Anna Maria College women's basketball team was named to the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III New England Basketball All-Star Third Team, as announced by the league office on Wednesday morning.

The two-time Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Defensive Player of the Year, Warburton adds regional recognition to her decorated career for the first time with this award.

In her second season at Anna Maria, Warburton led the country in steals with 129 (4.96 per game). She also led the GNAC in defensive rebounds per game this season (8.0 r/g) and double-doubles (17).

In addition to her success on the defensive end, Warburton also ranked fifth in the conference in points per game, averaging 16.5 points per contest. She scored in double-figures in all but three games over the course of the season, and scored a season-high 27 points against Western Connecticut on December 9th.

Warburton was one of two GNAC student-athletes to earn ECAC New England All-Star honors, as senior Aliah Curry from Norwich earned second-team recognition.

Tufts University's Haley Kanner was voted the ECAC New England Player of the Year and her head coach Carla Berube was tabbed the Coach of the Year. Mairead Hynes of Connecticut College was tabbed the ECAC New England Rookie of the Year.
