Women's Basketball Improves to 2-1 with 61-26 win against Becker

LEICESTER, Mass. – Trafficia Warburton (Worcester, Mass.) scored a game high 24 points as Anna Maria College defeated Becker College 61-26 in women's basketball action Thursday evening at the Leicester Gymnasium.

The win lifts the AMCATS record to 2-1, while the Hawks remain winless at 0-4.

Lindsay Bond (Webster, Mass.) and Katie Pryor (Whitinsville, Mass.) finished with ten apiece for the AMCATS. Warburton was a rebound shy of a double-double after pulling down a game high nine rebounds. Deja Taitt (Cambia Heights, N.Y.) chipped in with seven points and six assists.

Alycia Dery (Millville, Mass.) and Brooke Martel (Griswold, Conn.) led the Hawks with six points each. Diana Farmer (North Brookfield, Mass.) added five points and team high six boards.

The AMCATS held a 33-9 lead at halftime on the strength of a 14-for-31 effort from the floor (42.2 percent). Anna Maria followed that up with a 12-for-28 performance from the floor in the second half. Becker posted a 26.7 percent effort from field goal range through both halves (8-30). 

Anna Maria returns to action on Saturday, November 22 when they host Elms College at 1:00 p.m. Becker will shoot for their first win on Monday, November 24 when they travel to MCLA at 6:00 p.m.
