Elms Blazes Past Women’s Lacrosse 19-7

PAXTON, MA. – The Anna Maria Women's lacrosse team (1-11; 0-9) hosted the Elms College Blazers (4-6; 3-6) at the Caparso Field in Paxton, MA for a GNAC Conference matchup. The AMCATS lost the game 19-7.

Two quick goals from the Blazers started the game off but Alice Yokabaskas answered shortly after tucking away the AMCATS first goal of the night off a feed from Riley Cote. The AMCATS were held scoreless for the remainder of the first quarter going into the second fifteen minutes of play trailing behind the Blazers 6-1.

Three unanswered goals from Elms would start out the second, but a goal from Kyana Alit would break the silence for the AMCATS getting their second goal of the game. Two minutes later Cote tucked away a man down goal. Raegan Hachey was next to follow putting away another unassisted goal for the AMCATS bringing the score to 10-4. Yokabaskas buried the AMCATS fifth goal of the evening off a free position shot, cutting the Blazers lead in half just before the end of the first half.

Despite tying the Blazers at four in the second quarter, the AMCATS only found the back of the net two more times throughout the second half of the game. A feed from Altif in the third quarter would set up a goal for Cote for the AMCATS sixth of the night. Altif would then bury the AMCATS last goal of the night with just under three minutes left to play. The AMCATS closed the game out trailing behind the Blazers 19-7.
