Lasers Shoot Past Women’s Lacrosse 13-3

NEWTON, MA. – On Wednesday, March 15th the Anna Maria College women's lacrosse team (1-3; 0-1) traveled to Newton, MA to take on the Lasell University Lasers (2-2; 2-0). The AMCATS lost the game 13-3.

After two early goals from the Lasers, the AMCATS struck back as Raegan Hachey put away and unassisted goal to bring the score to 2-1. The Lasers would fire back however scoring two goals to close out the quarter, leading 4-1 over the AMCATS going into the second quarter of the game.

The AMCATS were held scoreless by the Lasers in the second quarter giving up one goal throughout the second fifteen. The AMCATS went into halftime trailing behind the Lasers 5-1.

Alice Yokabaskas set the tone in the third quarter feeding Ivy Ballou for the AMCATS second goal of the game. Yokabaskas kept the ball rolling burying the AMCATS third goal just four minutes later. That would be the last goal scored for the AMCATS however as they were held scoreless by the Lasers for the remainder of the game. 

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
-The AMCATS are 0-4 against the Lasers since the programs resurrection in 2019.
-Alice Yokabaskas led the AMCATS with two points (1 G; 1 A)
-Ashley Sheehan posted 11 saves on 24 shots. 

WHAT'S NEXT
Anna Maria women's lacrosse is back in action on Saturday, March 18th where they will host the Monks of St. Josephs (ME) at the Caparso Field in Paxton, MA. Opening draw is at 2:00PM.
