Adeyeye Earns GNAC Rookie and Player of the Week Awards
PAXTON, MA - The Anna Maria men's soccer team saw freshman Hezekiah Adeyeye (Woonsocket, RI) take home Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Rookie and Player of the Week honors as announced by the conference office on Tuesday afternoon.
The mid-fielder registered 12 points on the weekend, two of his points came in the AMCATS 3-2 victory over Curry College. Adeyeye had one goal in the contest when he raced past the defense off a beautiful pass courtesy of junior Simon Berry (Londonderry, NH). However, it was the contest against Becker where Adeyeye earned the bulk of his points (10). Adeyeye scored a program-record five goals against the Hawks to help lift the 'Cats to a 5-2 win and a 2-0 record. On the season, the freshman now has six goals, 12 points and a shooting percentage of .667.
Adeyeye and the AMCATS continue their homestand Wednesday, September 4 at 6:00 PM against Pine Manor College and finish off the week traveling to Salve Regina on Saturday, September 7 for a 1:00 PM matchup.
