Men's Soccer Announces 2019 Captains

PAXTON, Mass. - The Anna Maria men's soccer head coach Jacob Pesarcik announced this afternoon that Simon Berry (Londonberry, NH) and Ryan Todesco (Southwick, MA) will be named captains for the 2019 season.

This season will be Berry's first time wearing the captain's armband and offers a "great competitive mindset on the field that will hold his teammates to an overall high standard," said Coach Pesarcik. "I look forward to watching him grow as a leader throughout the year."  Berry is coming off a year where he started all 17 games and played a key role in a tough AMCATS defense that allowed 2.51 goals per game last year.

For Todesco, this will be his second year in a row donning the captain's armband and Coach Pesarcik lauded the senior with high praise, "Ryan brings a great amount of experience within our growing soccer program and his leadership style emulates, leading by example which is a perfect role model for all the underclassmen to look up too."  Todesco will also look to build off his strong 2018 season where he totaled career high's in shots (19) and points (5) in 17 games.

Men's soccer season starts on Friday, August, 30 at 6:30 PM as they travel to the Curry College Colonels where they will look to continue building the program up for a strong season.
