Dalton Named Men's Lacrosse Coach
Paxton, Mass. – Anna Maria College has named Andrew Dalton as its men's lacrosse head coach, as announced by Stanley Vieira, director of athletics. Dalton replaces Mark Lange, who resigned in May after two seasons on the sidelines for the AMCATS.
Dalton, who was an integral part of the growth of the AMCAT football team, is in his fifth season as the defensive and recruiting coordinator for program.
"We are excited to have Andrew on staff in the spring as well as in the fall," said Vieira "I have been impressed with his recruiting capability as well as his dedication to developing fine young student-athletes in the classroom, community and on the field here at Anna Maria."
Dalton will take over a lacrosse team that has been very successful in the past two seasons. Since joining the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) in 2012, the men's lacrosse team has qualified for the GNAC tournament in back-to-back seasons, reaching the GNAC semi-finals in 2013.
I would first like to thank Mr. Vieira and Anna Maria College for giving me this opportunity," said Dalton " Over the past five years I have had the opportunity to watch from the ground up how to build a successful program under the tutelage of head football coach Vince Sinagra. I look forward to instilling the AMCAT philosophy as a head coach."
Dalton received his bachelors of science degree in communications from Norwich University in 2009. He was a four-year member of the Cadet football team and earned the prestigious Senior Participant Award in his final season. Dalton earned his master's degree in business administration from Anna Maria in 2012.
