Henry's Six Goals Leads AMCATS over Lions.

BOSTON, Mass. – Freshman Scott Henry notched six goals and dished out three assists to lead the Anna Maria Men Lacrosse Team to a 15-7 victory over host Emerson College to close out the regular season. With the loss the Lions move to 2-9 on the year and 1-8 in conference play as Anna Maria improves to 6-9 overall and 3-6 in the GNAC. The AMCATS will now await the GNAC rankings to see where they will be headed for post-season play.

The first period saw the AMCATS come out firing as they scored three straight goals to open up the first five minutes. Emerson never stopped hustling though as Nicholas Kitsos dropped the first EC goal before an AMCAT penalty opened the door for Tyler Hastings to make it 3-2.

Max Smith went on the hunt three minutes later to knot it at three all dropping a shot in the top corner before Anna Maria closed out with one more goal for a 4-3 lead after one complete.

The second period was all Anna Maria though as they put up a barrage of shots on the Lions with 13 shots and seven unanswered goals to make it a dominant 11-3 lead for the AMCATS as they headed into the break.

Coming out of the half, Anna Maria sparked up quickly again as Scott Henry added his fourth goal of the game that Chris Summers followed suit on to make it 13-3.

Max Smith scrapped back for the lions with less than five minutes remaining for his second goal of the day with a set up from Tyler Hastings, before the two flipped the script on the next goal for Hastings second of the day to close out the quarter down 13-5.

The fourth started out with yet another from Scott Henry to make it 14-5 until the Lions pushed the throttle as Nicholas Kitsos and Max Smith put away another two goals. Anna Maria struck last though as Lucas Stralka added one last goal from Scott Henry to close it out 15-7.
