Men's Soccer Edged by Wildcats

PAXTON, Mass: Anna Maria Men's Soccer team would lose 5-1 on Saturday evening at AMCAT Field to conference opponent Johnson and Wales. 

 

Johnson and Wales University (10-4-3, 8-2-1 GNAC), Anna Maria College (2-13-1, 0-10-1 GNAC)

 

First Half:

 

Just 90 seconds into the start of the game the Wildcats found their first goal of the game. Tucker MacPherson had his shot saved that would get put directly in off the save by Riley McNicholas.  The second goal for the Wildcats came off the foot of Teagan Drake who just kept it on the ground past Danahue. 

 

Second Half:

 

Teagan Drake would score his second goal of the game for the Wildcats in the 57th minute on a penalty kick that would go top left while Donahue dove the opposite direction.  JWU would get their fourth goal of the contest on a corner kick from Riley Spotten to Erik Schneider in the 67th minute.  Just three minutes later Johnson and Wales would make the score 5-0, where Teagan Drake would get his third goal of the game on another pass from Yohann Assouramou.  

 

The AMCATS only goal would come in the 85th minute when Jehon Balidemaj of JWU would kick it back to his goalie that would be caught out of position for an own goal.

JWU: Calvin Fox: 1 Goals, 0 Saves

 

AMC:Jeffre Donahue (Rockland, Mass): 5 Goals Allowed, 9 Saves, (2-12-1)

 

Next Up:

 

Johnson and Wales will travel to Rhode Island College at 4PM on October 23rd for their final home game of the year. 

 

Anna Maria will host Mass. Maritime on October 22nd at 7PM at AMCAT Field.
