Men's Soccer Drops to Norwich 2-0

 

Paxton, Mass: The Anna Maria men's soccer team was bested by Norwich University in conference action this even 2-0, in Northfield Vermont.

 

Norwich (4-0-3, 2-0-1 GNAC) took a 1-0 lead in the 3rd minute on a Bryce Sullenger's (Gaithersburg, Md.) cross, that deflected off an Anna Maria player's leg and into the back of the net.

 

The Cadets Freshman Eric Badibanga (Burlington, Vt.) scored the only goal in the 49th minute of the contest, and was assisted by Matt Bento (Brookfield, Conn.).

 

 The AMCATS (1-4, 0-2 GNAC) were only able to get two shots off in tonight's match. Tanaka Mararike (Paxton, Mass.) and Nick Lawrence (Attleboro, Mass.) both had one apiece. Anna Maria goalie Jeffre Donahue (Rockland, Mass.) picked up double digit saves with twelve as he faced sixteen shots on net and thirty-three total.  

 

The Cadets hit the road to play Castleton in non-league action on Wednesday the 19th starting at 7:00 PM.

 

Anna Maria will have their home opener next Wednesday the 19th against the University of Saint Josephs (Conn.) in conference play. The Contest is slated to start at 4:00 PM on AMCAT Field.
