Mattioli Tabbed as GNAC Men's Soccer Player of the Week

WINTHROP, Mass.--The Anna Maria College men's soccer team earns a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) weekly honor for the first time this season, as junior forward Christopher Mattioli (Sturbridge Mass.) has been named the Corvias Player of the Week.

MATTIOLI MAGIC

Mattioli scored three times in a 1-1 week for the AMCATS. The AMCATS picked up their first victory of the season this week as Mattioli scored twice in the 4-1 conference win over Suffolk University on Saturday. His first goal, a penalty kick in the 38th minute, tied the score at 1-1, while his second score of the day put Anna Maria up 2-1.

He now leads the AMCATS with eight points on the season off of four goals.

COMING UP

The AMCATS (1-6-1, 1-2 GNAC) host Becker College on Tuesday for a non-conference matchup starting at 4:00 p.m. before hosting the Cadets of Norwich University for a 4:00 p.m. GNAC contest on Friday, October 9.
