Volleyball Falls Short Against Wildcats

PAXTON, MA. – On Tuesday, September 17th the Anna Maria College women's volleyball team hosted the Bay Path Wildcats. The AMCATS would go on to lose the match 3 to 2.
In the first set of the night it would be the Wildcats to take the set 1 over the AMCATS, with complete control winning the set 25 to 10. The second set would be back and forth action, with points going back and forth for both teams but it would be the AMCATS throwing it right back at the Wildcats taking the second set 25 to 22. Tied at one a piece, both teams battled it out, but it would be the Wildcats to break away from the AMCATS taking the third set by a score of 25 to 12. The AMCATS were not going away and fought to the end forcing the Wildcats to go 5 sets. As the AMCATS would capitalize on their opportunities and take set four by a score of 25 to 15. The fifth set would be another all-out war with both teams fighting to win the match but, the AMCATS would not be able to hold on and ended up losing the final set 15-7 to the Wildcats, resulting in a 3-2 loss for the match.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
• Lauren Decoteau scores a career high of 10 kills on the evening.
• Annie Taylor scores a career high of 19 digs on the evening.
• Gia Hall scores a career high of 20 assists on the evening.
• The AMCATS would record their first five set match of the season.
COMING UP:
The AMCATS will be back in action on Saturday September 21, 2024, where they will travel to Suny Platsburg for a tri-match against Suny Poly and Plattsburgh. The first match is set to start at 2:00pm
