HIGHLIGHTS

  • GAME 1
    • After spotting the Sharks a three-run lead in the bottom of the fourth, the AMCATS clawed a run back in the top of the fifth. Freshman center fielder Paige Stewart (Auburn, MA) led off the inning with a walk and then two batters later scored all the way from first base on a double to left field by senior third baseman Samantha Dahill (Littleton, MA). The Sharks then put another three spot on the board in the bottom of the frame to take a 6-1 lead.
    • In the top of the sixth, the AMCATS plated three runs of their own. Graduate student second baseman Michelle Cilley (Dracut, MA) started the inning off by reaching on an error by the third baseman and then moved to second on a ground out to the pitcher by junior shortstop Eden Forget (Worcester, MA). Graduate student first baseman Ashley Garcia (Cornwall, NY) and Stewart each then followed with a pair of singles to left to load the bases. Freshman designated player Madison-Marie Romano (Lebanon, ME) then scored Cilley from third with a sacrifice fly to left field. A passed ball allowed Garcia and Stewart to move to second and third before they were driven in by a single to right field by freshman left fielder Aurora Van Wormer (Swift Current, SK).
  • GAME 2
    • The AMCATS bats were kept in check in the second game as the Sharks Piper Kinney limited them to just a pair of singles by Garcia and junior catcher Saylor Costa (East Providence, RI) in the fifth and sixth innings respectively.
