North Adams, Mass. - The MCLA women's tennis team fell behind early, but rallied to win five singles matches en route to a 6-3 win over Anna Maria College this afternoon at the Zavattaro Complex.

The win improves MCLA's mark to 6-4 heading into their final weekend of the regular season, while the loss drops the AMCATS to 1-6.

Anna Maria jumped ahead early on as they took the first and second doubles matches with an 8-5 win at No. 1 by the duo of Jessica Gautieri (North Attleboro, Mass.) and Nicola Zamira (Mashpee, Mass.). Nicole Goudreau (Harrisville, R.I.) and Callie Mulcahy (Charlton, Mass.) teamed up for an 8-5 win at No. 2 doubles.

The AMCATS finished doubles play with a 2-1 lead, as MCLA claimed an 8-0 win at No. 3 doubles.

Gautieri recorded another win for Anna Maria in tiebreakers at No. 1 singles before MCLA won the final five singles matches to claim the win.

The AMCATS return to action on Saturday when they travel to Albertus Magnus College for a 1:00 p.m. Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) match.
