AMCATS SEEDED 6th IN CHAMPIONSHIP

Paxton, Mass. – Anna Maria College's men's basketball team has been seeded sixth in the upcoming 2012 GNAC Championship. The AMCATS will travel to Johnson and Wales University on Tuesday, February 21st, game time is 7:00pm.

The Albertus Magnus Falcons are seeded first after an outstanding conference record of 18-0 and 24-1 overall.

Coming in second place is St. Joseph's of Maine with a conference record of 13-5 and an overall record of 17-8. Earning a third place finish is Johnson & Wales University and Lasell College (11-7, 12-13) took fourth place finishing out the top four home seeded teams in the tournament bracket.

AMC finished the regular season with a 12-13 overall record and 10-8 in conference. The Wildcats, seeded third, completed the 2012 campaign with a duplicate 12-13 record and a slightly better 11-7 conference record.

The two teams split the season series with each team winning on their home court. Anna Maria took the first tilt 91-87 with Anthony Click, Brad Peterson and Corey Pryor combining for 72 of AMC's total points. The rematch took place in Rhode Island just five days later with Johnson & Wales cruising to a 79-54 victory.

Rounding out the final four spots in the GNAC tournament are #5 Emmanuel (11-7, 12-13), #6 Anna Maria (10-8, 12-13), #7 Mount Ida (6-12, 9-16) and #8 Emerson (6-12, 7-18).
