AMCATS Top Cadets in GNAC Action

NORTHFIELD, Vt. – Anthony Click scored a game-high 24 points and had a game-high six assists to lead Anna Maria College past Norwich University 73-68 in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) men's basketball action Tuesday night at Andrews Gymnasium. The AMCATS improved to 11-13 on the season and 9-8 in league play.

Norwich (5-18, 4-13 GNAC) jumped out to an early 11-2 lead to start the game and held a 10-point advantage at the half. NU shot 53.1 percent from the field in the first stanza and connected at a 40 percent clip from beyond the three-point line. At one point in the frame the home team led by a 16-point margin at 27-11.

Senior forward Antonio Davis (Albany, N.Y.) paced the Cadets for the game, recording team-highs in points (18) and rebounds (13) as he notched a double-double. Sophomore guard Tom McDonald (Groton, Mass.) and freshman forward Evan Tullar (Chelsea, Vt.) also reached double-digit points for Norwich, scoring 16 and 11 respectively.

Three other players scored in double digits for AMC as Brad Peterson (18 points), Hugh Daye (13 points) and Corey Pryor (10 points) rounded out the AMCATS' attack.

Anna Maria will wrap up its season on Saturday, Feb. 18, when they host conference foe Suffolk at 1 p.m.
