NORTHFIELD, VT. – Five players compiled multi-goal games, leading Norwich University to a 19-6 win over Anna Maria in Great Northeast Athletic Conference women's lacrosse action on April 21.

The senior midfielder duo of Kacey Abbriano (Hicksville, N.Y.) and Mollie Fitzpatrick (Falmouth, Maine) each scored four goals to highlight the Senior Day 2012 win which wrapped up the top seed for NU in next week's GNAC postseason tournament. The victory was part of an afternoon in which coach Elizabeth VanParys and her staff recognized eight Cadets prior to appearing in their final regular season home game on Howard Field.

NU's offense started quickly. An eight-goal run in the opening 10 minutes got Norwich out to a lead they didn't surrender. Fitzpatrick's four tallies all occurred in the opening 30 minutes en route to a 13-2 halftime lead.

Anna Maria received first half goals by Katie Schebel (Ludlow, Mass.) and Amanda Hevy (North Brookfield, Mass.) while Amelia Richard added an assist.

The Maroon and Gold (10-0, 8-0 GNAC) opened the second half in similar fashion with four straight goals to lead 17-2.

Anna Maria (1-12, 0-9 GNAC) did forge a late comeback with four of the final six scores. Schebel was top scorer for Anna Maria tailing 4 goals and an assist. Teammate Hevy finished the day with two goals

The quartet of sophomore midfielder Grace Fitzpatrick (Falmouth, Maine) and senior attackers Danielle Del Dotto (Andover. Mass.), Lindsey Mathias (Worcester, Mass.) and Suzanne Whitaker (Chelmsford, Mass.) each finished with two goals.

The Maroon and Gold put their 25-game GNAC and 15-game home field win streaks on the line Sunday, April 22, when Emerson College visits for a 1 p.m. game. Anna Maria hosts Wheelock College on Thursday night at 7:00 pm.
