Women's Lacrosse 8 Emmanuel 15

Paxton, Mass. – Katie Schebel (Ludlow, Mass.) continued her torrid scoring pace netting 7 goals, to make her season total 25 but the AMCATS couldn't hold off  a solid Emmanuel College women's lacrosse team today at AMCAT field dropping a 15-8 decision in Great Northeast Athletic Conference action. With the win the Saints improve to 3-5, 2-3 GNAC while AMC's record holds at 1-5, 0-3 GNAC.

Joining Schebel on the stats page was senior Alicia Savo (Mount Vernon, NH) with her first goal of the season and Sandy Acosta (Lawrence, Mass.) who added an assist.  Netminder Marlena Donjacour (San Francisco, CA) had 10 saves in the loss.

Freshman Madison Altwies (Southington, Conn) and Marykate McNulty (Madison, Conn.) each added four goals for Emmanuel while senior Logan Carr (Saratoga Springs, NY) notched five points (2G, 3A). Goalkeeper Hillary Dandurant (Merrimac, Mass.) stopped 12 shots in the win.

Schebel started the scoring converting a Acosta pass just :49 seconds in for a 1-0 AMC lead. Logan Carr tied the game scoring at 25:39 and Madison Altwies gave Emmanuel their first lead at 2-1 five minutes into the half. Back-to-back goals by Savo and Schebel made it 3-2 AMC with 21 minutes to play in the half.

Emmanuel turned on the jets after that outscoring Anna Maria 9-0 for the remainder of the period for a 11-3 halftime lead. Freshman Alexia Basile (West Hartford, Conn.) tallied 3 of the nine goals for the Saints.

Anna Maria outscored Emmanuel 5-4 in the second half.

STAT of the DAY: In a match-up of the top two draw control specialists in NCAA Division III. 1. AMC- Schebel (11.33 per game) vs. EMM – Carr (10.0 per game), Schebel held a 6-0 advantage over Carr.

Anna Maria returns to action on Wednesday when they host St. Joe's (CT) at 4:00pm.
