Anna Maria Names New Men’s Soccer Coach

PAXTON, Mass – Earlier this month, men's head soccer coach Malcolm Cheney announced his resignation from Anna Maria College. Monday evening, current graduate assistant coach Jacob Pesarcik was named the new head coach of the AMCAT men's soccer program, effective immediately, by Athletic Director Serge DeBari.

"This is a great opportunity that has put in front of me. I would like to thank Athletic Director Serge DeBari and the AMC Athletics Department as a whole for supporting me with this new and exciting endevour," Pesarcik said. "I would also like to thank former head coach Malcolm Cheney for laying down a positive foundation in which we, as a program, can build upon. I look forward to beginning my journey as the head men's soccer coach at Anna Maria."

Originally from Allentown, Pennsylvania, Jacob received his Bachelor's Degree in Social Work from Bloomsburg University in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania where he was recruited to play soccer as a goalkeeper. During his collegiate playing career, Pesarcik played in 23 games for the Huskies, finishing with a 6-9-4 record. He made 103 career saves and allowed 1.4 goals per game.

Jacob holds a United Soccer Coaches National Diploma as well as Level 1 & 2 Goalkeeping Diplomas. He is currently working towards hit United Soccer Federation Licenses.

Coach Pesarcik spent the 2017 season as an assistant under Cheney. He is currently pursuing his Master's Degree in Social Work from Anna Maria College which he will graduate with this Spring.

Pesarcik takes over and AMCAT team that was 2-14-1, 1-9 in Conference last season.
