Cardinals Down Men’s Hockey 5-2

AUBURN, MA: The Anna Maria College men's ice hockey team hosted the Wesleyan University Cardinals on Tuesday January 10th at the Horgan Arena in Auburn, MA. The AMCATS fell to the Cardinals 5-2.

THE BASICS:

HIGHLIGHTS

• The AMCATS started out the game dropping two quick goals to the Cardinals. 
• Going into the second period trailing by two the AMCATS tried to fight back but were met with yet another quick goal from the Cardinals increasing their lead to three.
• Scratching Back Mkyllan Couture found the back of the net to reduce the Cardinal lead back to two. He was assisted by August Bouveng and Samson Mouland.
• Despite the AMCATS getting up on the board they were quickly met with yet another Cardinals goal scored just twenty seconds later.
• Trailing by three the AMCATS found themselves with a power play opportunity just under 7 minutes into the second period where Cam Tobey was able to find the back of the net to cut the lead in half. He was assisted by Braeden McKinnon and Guillaume Coulombe.
• Trailing 4-2 at the start of the third period the Cardinals struck the final blow scoring their fifth goal 36 seconds into the period.
• The AMCATS closed out the game trailing 5-2.
