Deandre Wallace Named ECFC Offensive Player Of The Week

KILLINGWORTH, Conn.. – Anna Maria College junior wide receiver Deandre Wallace (Waterbury, CT ), was named the Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC) Offensive Player of the Week for games played through Saturday, September 17. Wallaced scored a career-high three touchdowns for the AMCATS on just three catches for 102 yards and an aveage 34.0 yards per game. He set season-highs for yards, yards per catch, longest reception (59 yards), and touchdowns. The weekly honor for the AMCATS marks the thrird straight week an Anna Maria player has received weekly confernce honors. 
 
The AMCATS open the 2022 ECFC schedule at home this Saturay, October 1 against Alfred State at 1:30 as part of the 2022 Homecoming and Family and Friends Weekend. The AMCATS claimed their frist ever conference championship and played in the NCAA playoffs for the first time in school history.

About the ECFC

The Eastern Collegiate Football Conference was formed in the spring of 2009 as an NCAA Division III single-sport football conference. The conference, named after the geographic location of the institutions began competition in the fall of 2009.

Current members are Alfred State College (Alfred, NY), Anna Maria College (Worcester, MA), Castleton University (Castleton, VT.), Dean College (Franklin, MA), Gallaudet University (Washington, D.C.), Keystone College (La Plume, PA), and Maritime College State University of New York (Throggs Neck, NY).

The mission of the conference is to:

  1. Promote intercollegiate varsity football as an integral part of the educational experience of all competitors. 
  2. Establish a conference schedule and determine a conference championship that will represent the conference as the automatic qualifier to the NCAA national tournament.
  3. Adopt sportsmanship, fair play, moral integrity, and competitive excellence as cornerstones of the conference.
