ECFC Announces All-Conference Honorees

KILLINGWORTH, Conn. – The Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC) announced their all-conference teams and major award winners for the 2022 season as voted on by the league's seven head coaches. Student-athletes from all seven member institutions earned recognition.  Anna Maria football placed two players each on the All-Conference Offense First Team and Second Team respectfully, five players on the All-Confernce Defense Second Team and three players received All-Conference Honorable Mention. The AMCATS finished the season with a 5-4 overall record and 3-3 league record. The 5-4 record marks their second consecutive winning season for the first time in the history of the program.

All-Conference Offense First Team

Devin Tolbert (Salem, MA), WR, SO
Devin Tolbert is making his first appearance on the all-conference first team. He was first in the ECFC in receptions (67), second in passing yards per game (100.1), third in total receiving yards (901), second in receiving touchdowns (7) and had the longest reception in the league with a 77-yard catch. He led the AMCATS in receiving touchdowns, yards, yards per game and receptions. In a 36-22 win against Dean, he had a career day with 186 receiving yards on eight catches including a 77 yard touchdown reception. He ended the game with two touchdowns. He had over 100 yards receiving four times this season and scored in at least one touchdown in five games. 

Max Cyr (Middleton, CT), OL, JR
Max Cyr is making his first team on the all-conference first team. Cry played in all nine games for the AMCATS. He was part of an offensive line that helped the AMCATS lead the league in total offense (3821), passing offense (2799), touchdowns (43) and points (295)
 
All-Conference Offense Second Team

Alex Cohen (Plymouth, MA), QB, SR 
Alex Cohen is making his second consecutive appearance on the all-conference first team and it marks his third time being selected to the all-conference team. He was selected to the all-conference offense first team as tight end in 2019. Cohen led the league in passing (1968), yards per game (218.7), completions (147) and touchdowns (20) and was second in pass completing (57.9%). On the ground, he rushed for 199 yards on 59 carries and five touchdowns. In a win over Mass Maritime, he threw for 299 yards on 22-for-31 completions and four passing touchdowns. He added 83 yards on the ground on 10 carries and a touchdown.

Deandre Wallace (Waterbury, CT), WR, JR
Deandre Wallace, the 2021 ECFC Rookie of the Year, is making his second consecutive appearance on the all-conference team. He was named to the offense first team last year. Wallace ranked seventh in receiving yards (553), yards per game (61.4), receptions (39) and was tied for third with six touchdowns. 

All-Conference Defense Second Team

Terrance Jackson (Middleton, CT), DL, FR
Terrance Jackson is making his first appearance on the all-conference team in his rookie season. In nine games, Jackson had 19 sole tackles, 16 assisted tackles nd 35 total tackles. He was part of defensive line that was ranked third in rushing yards per game allowed (199.1) and fourth in yards per game. 

Elijah Allston (Cheshire, CT), DL, JR
Elijah Allston is making his second consecutive appearance on the all-conference second team.  In nine games, Allston had 31 total tackles including two sacks. He had 12 solo tackles and 19 assisted. Allston was part of defensive line that was ranked third in rushing yards per game allowed (199.1) and fourth in yards per game. 

Alvin Martin (Philadelphia, PA) LB, JR 
Alvin Martin is making his first appearance on the all-conference team. Martin was third in the league with 71 tackles (29 solo and 42 assisted). Martin ranked fourth with 7.9 tackles per game.  He was part of defense that was ranked third in rushing yards per game allowed (199.1) and fourth in yards per game. 

Kyle Couto (East Taunton, MA), LB, JR
Kyle Couto is making his first appearance on the all-conference team. Couto was ranked ninth in the league with 61 total tackles (19 solo and 42 assisted) and tied for ninth with two interceptions. He was part of defense that was ranked third in rushing yards per game allowed (199.1) and fourth in yards per game. 

Lamar Wilkes (Philadelphia, PA), DB, JR
Lamar Wilkes is making his season appearance on the all-conference team after being named honorable mention in 2021. Wilkes finished the year with 25 total tackles in nine games. He has nine solo tackles and 13 assisted and recorded one interception.. He was part of defense that was ranked third in rushing yards per game allowed (199.1) and fourth in yards per game.
