Raiders Charge Past Men's Lacrosse

NASHUA, N.H.—The Rivier University Men's Lacrosse team earned their first conference win of the season with a 22-7 win over the visiting Anna Maria College AMCATS in Tuesday's Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) matchup.

The AMCATS saw three goals from junior Alex Rezendes (Nantucket, Mass.) and single tallies from Andrew Marcotte (Plainville, Mass.), Jonathan McDonald (Marlborough, Mass.), Tyler Hagan (Charlton, Mass.), and Nathan Batallas (Templeton, Mass.).

The Raiders saw a game-high two goals and five assists from Joe Kelland. Rob Auer chipped in with two goals and three assists, while Tyler Prendergast scored three times.

Anna Maria's Paul Mills (Auburn, Mass.) made his first appearance between the pipes for the AMCATS and made 11 saves.

Clark Plummer earned the win in net for Rivier with five saves. Josh Martin also logged his first minutes in goal for the Raiders, putting up three saves in 15:18 of action.

With the win, the Raiders improve to 8-2 overall and 1-2 on the season. The loss drops Anna Maria to 1-9 overall and 0-4 in league play. The AMCATS return to action on Thursday night when they travel to Salve Regina University for a 5:00 pm start.
