Becker Bests Anna Maria in Lacrosse

PAXTON, Mass.—Blake Boutiette (Buriville, R.I.) scored a game-high five goals to lead the Becker College men's lacrosse team to a 20-4 win against Anna Maria College on Thursday evening in non-conference action.

In addition to Boutiette, the Hawks saw four goals from Ryan Kearney (Katonah, N.Y.) and three goals from Francis Lanni (Drexil Hill, Pa.). Avyay Chaganty (Bridgewater, N.J.) chipped in with two goals and two assists.

The AMCATS saw two goals apiece from freshman Jonathan McDonald (Marlborough, Mass.) and junior Alex Rezendes (Nantucket, Mass.). McDonald also tallied an assist on the day.

Becker held a 61-16 advantage in shots and took 20 shots in both of the first two quarters, while holding Anna Maria to just four first-half shots. The AMCATS' lone shot of the first quarter was a goal by Rezendes.

Freshman goaltender Zachary Sylvia (Tiverton, R.I.) totaled 17 saves in net for the AMCATS, while Jeffrey Candee (Madison, Conn.) totaled three saves in the win.

Bryan Parsons (Shrewsbury, Mass.) scooped up a game-high 15 ground balls for Becker and caused four turnovers, while Daniel Rinkus (Harwington, Conn.) tallied six ground balls for the AMCATS.

Anna Maria (1-12) will return to action on Saturday for a 1:00 p.m. conference game at Lasell. Becker (3-7) will host Nichols College on Tuesday, April 14th at 4:00 p.m.
