Field Hockey Edged By Blazers

- PAXTON, MA : The Anna Maria College field hockey team lost 1-0 to visiting Elms College on Wednesay evening in Great Northeast Athletic Conference action at Caparso Field in Paxton.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • After a scoreless first quarter, Elms senior forward Snejana Lashtur (Greenfield, MA) got the Blazers on the board with a well-placed shot in the 19th minute of the game on an unassisted play. It was her first goal of the season, and would prove to be the sole goal of the game.
  • Anna Maria junior goalkeeper Hannah Tobey (Falmouth, MA) finished with four saves in net.
  • Elms junior goalkeeper Nora Newman (Woburn, MA) picked up the shutout win with four stops.
  • Anna Maria senior midfielder Chayna Bingham-Hendricks (Mashpee, MA) led the AMCATS with two shots for the evening.
  • Anna Maria freshman defender Kayla Proia (Maynard, MA) had a defensive save for the AMCATS to prevent another goal.    

UP NEXT:

- Anna Maria will be back on the field on Saturday when they play host to Albertus Magnus College for a 10:00 a.m. contest.
