Field Hockey Edged By Blazers

- PAXTON, MA : The Anna Maria College field hockey team lost 1-0 to visiting Elms College on Wednesay evening in Great Northeast Athletic Conference action at Caparso Field in Paxton.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• After a scoreless first quarter, Elms senior forward Snejana Lashtur (Greenfield, MA) got the Blazers on the board with a well-placed shot in the 19^th minute of the game on an unassisted play. It was her first goal of the season, and would prove to be the sole goal of the game.
• Anna Maria junior goalkeeper Hannah Tobey (Falmouth, MA) finished with four saves in net.
• Elms junior goalkeeper Nora Newman (Woburn, MA) picked up the shutout win with four stops.
• Anna Maria senior midfielder Chayna Bingham-Hendricks (Mashpee, MA) led the AMCATS with two shots for the evening.
• Anna Maria freshman defender Kayla Proia (Maynard, MA) had a defensive save for the AMCATS to prevent another goal.    

UP NEXT:

- Anna Maria will be back on the field on Saturday when they play host to Albertus Magnus College for a 10:00 a.m. contest.
