Field Hockey Clawed by Cougars

Paxton, Mass: The Anna Maria Field Hockey team fell to Clark University in non-conference action tonight 2-1 on the road in Worcester on Granger Field.

The Cougars (4-0) will remain unbeaten in this young season thanks to two second half goals by senior forward Olivia Barksdale. Barksdale was able to capitalize in the 38th minute and the 47th minute of the contest with some help from Emma Boland, Chase Collier, and Julia D'Antonio.

The AMCATS (1-2) loan goal was scored by sophomore Chayna Bingham-Hendricks (Mashpee, Mass.) in the 18th minute of the first half. Allyson Shaw (Holden, Mass.) a junior forward put together a three shot night for Anna Maria with two on target.

Clark University was able to out shoot the AMCATS twenty-seven to seven in total shots, and sixteen to four with shots on goal. The Cougars tallied twenty shots to an Anna Maria zero in the second half.  

AMCAT goalie Nikki Streete (San Jose, CA) now 1-2, had twelve saves on the night in net as she faced sixteen total shots on goal.

The Cougars of Clark University will be playing again this Saturday the 15th at home in Worcester against Mount Holyoke, starting at 11:30 AM.

Anna Maria will be back on the field Saturday the 15th as they take to the road again in a conference match up with Rivier at 3:30 PM.
