HOW IT HAPPENED:

-The AMCATS hopped on the board first with a goal from sophomore Anne Melanson (Grafton, Mass.) just six minutes into play. Melanson created a breakaway for herself to give the AMCATS the early 1-0 lead.

-The Hawks did not take long to respond as Jocelyn Lebel (Grafton, Mass.) notched her first goal of the season to tie the game at 2-2 just four minutes later.

-Becker took their only lead of the game with 23 minutes on the clock as Amy Cooper (Monument, Colo.) scooped up an Anna Maria turnover and converted it into a goal for the home team (2-1).

-That was the last goal the AMCATS would allow and they went on to score three more in the half.

-Anna Maria was awarded a corner with 14 minutes to play in the first half. Jaqueline Lapierre (Worcester, Mass.) received a pass from Denver and fired a shot past Becker goalkeeper, Alexis Barry (Manchester, Mass.) to tie the game at 2-2.

-Sophomore, Lauren Lapierre (Worcester, Mass.) buried a rebound shot off of the keeper to take the 3-2 lead for the AMCATS and just three minutes later Denver scored her first goal of the game to give the visitors the 4-2 lead into the halftime break.

-The AMCATS came out strong in the second half with back to back goals from Denver, freshman Allyson Shaw (Holden, Mass.), and Denver again to take the ultimate 8-2 victory.
