Adeyeye, Todesco, And Wu Earn GNAC All-Conference Awards

GNAC PRESS RELEASE

PAXTON, MA - The Anna Maria College men's soccer team saw three student-athletes take home Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) awards as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon. Hezekiah Adeyeye (Woonsocket, RI) led the way for the AMCATS when he earned GNAC All-Conference Second Team and Rookie of the Year recognitions. Ryan Todesco (Southwick, MA) took home GNAC All-Conference Third Team honors, and Caleb Wu (New Hartford, NY) collected a spot on the GNAC All-Sportsmanship Team.

HEZEKIAH ADEYEYE | GNAC ALL-CONFERENCE SECOND TEAM/GNAC ROOKIE OF THE YEAR

The mid-fielder had as strong of a freshman season any first-time student-athlete could ask for. On the year, Adyeye's team-leading 12 goals paced the AMCATS offense to go along with four assists. Adeyeye's major highlight from this season was his performance against Becker on August, 31 when he set two program records for goals in a game (five) and points in a game (10).

For conference play, Adeyeye led the squad in goals and was tied with Steven Makynen (Uxbridge, MA) in assists with four and two respectively. In the entire GNAC, Adeyeye's 12 goals led all freshmen. Also, Adeyeye was the first AMCATS student-athlete to have double-digit goals since 2009 (George Markopoulous, 15).

RYAN TODESCO | GNAC ALL-CONFERENCE THIRD TEAM

The senior captain was a major contributor all season long being a key cog in the AMCATS defense and also contributed on the offensive end too. For the season, Todesco tallied three goals and one assist for seven points. Todesco also had a shot on goal percentage of .617 which ranked third on the team for any student-athlete that took 15 or more shots. In conference action, Todesco contributed one goal and shots on goal percentage of .538.

CALEB WU | GNAC ALL-SPORTSMANSHIP TEAM

Like Adeyeye, Wu was a freshman who made great contributions to the men's soccer squad. Wu started in six of the eight games he played with two shots on goal too. Off the field, Wu was a favorite not only for his teammates, but also men's soccer head coach, Jacob Pesarcik. "Caleb brings consistently a proper sportsmanship mentality both within our own team as well as to the opponents we play against," said Coach Pesarcik. "Caleb embodies our team-first approach and he is a great example of the team culture we are trying to build here with Anna Maria College Men's Soccer with Respect, Accountability, Effort, Discipline and Attitude as our five foundation pillars. Caleb is only a first-year player, he has much room for positive growth, but he is off to a great start."
